Her work speaks volumes about her talent. She's also one of my dearest friends and I'm lucky to be able to work with her. Visit her site and get your own Llima Orosa photograph. She's amazing!
I met Simone briefly at Utrecht in Chelsea. She helped me out with a couple of purchases and was just so nice to deal with that I ended up sending a thank you email to the store. She then introduced me to her work and I was enthralled. And, I also credit her and Marlo for inspiring me to start drawing. For that I will be forever grateful. This is her space on the Overtones website.
I've loved Keith Haring's work for as long as I can remember. I even have one of his drawings tattooed on my left arm. He was an incredible artist that left us much too soon.
I've worked with the Yun Gee Archives for a few years and I'm constantly surprised and delighted by his work and talent. His paintings are so original and vibrant. A new book on his work and life and that of his daughter Li-lan, also an artist, was just released this year: Experiences of Passage: The Paintings of Yun Gee and Li-lan. Visit the Yun Gee site to view some of his work. (Photo: Courtesy of Yun Gee.com)
Edited by his widow, Joanna Steichen, Steichen's Legacy is a magnificent tribute to the man considered one of photography's innovators. I have a copy and it is a constant source of inspiration. One can truly understand why Steichen is considered a pioneer in the art of photography.
This is Li-lan's new website. Her work is incredible in its detail and ethereal beauty. A new book on her life and work is out now: Experiences of Passage: The Paintings of Yun Gee and Li-lan, written by Joyce Brodsky. (Li-lan, Look Out, 2004, oil on linen, 24" x 30")
Herb Ritts was a master in the field of art and commercial photography. He shot some of my favorite people, including Ms. Tina Turner (pictured) and Madonna.
I was introduced to Carlos Bautista's work via an old high school friend, who just happens to be his wife. As one might expect, she is his biggest fan and she mentioned how incredible his work was. After visiting his site and spending some time with his beautiful creations, I couldn't agree with her more. Amazing!
Susan Loesser's work is simply stunning in its beauty. Visit her site and be treated to a truly peaceful and majestic journey through her Imaginary Landscapes. Gorgeous!
The art of Caridad Sierra is, in one word, divine. Everytime I see one of her works, there is something new for me to discover. Visit her site at MyArtSpace.com and see what I mean! (Portal 2004 - oil on wood - 16 x 20 inches)
